Welcome to Grass Roots Organisation

Founded 2008

Grass Roots Organisation is a non-profit, non-partisan group devoted to inspiring grass root and youth involvement in local and national decision making.

As a new organisation, our primary focus will be on the county of Cumbria, in the north west of England.

Our main aims in the first months of our organisation are as follows:

  • To increase the representation of young people at the Parliamentary level

  • To  strengthen a Cumbrian youth presence in national forums, such as the UK Youth Parliament, which currently has no Cumbrian representative.

  • To inspire a grass root involvement in Cumbrian politics

  • To promote the significance of 'world citizenship'.

  • To increase understanding of the local, national and international political systems.
